Work Hours Dog Care
You concentrate on your working day, we’ll concentrate on theirs.

Your job is busy enough without wondering what your dog is doing every ten minutes.
Maybe you have a day packed with meetings. You’re travelling into the office. You have a deadline that needs your full attention. Or perhaps you work from home, but your dog has other ideas about how much work you should actually be getting done.
Work Hours Dog Care gives you uninterrupted time to focus, while your dog gets dedicated one-to-one care in the comfort of their own home.
No need to rush home. No worrying that they have been alone too long. No mentally calculating when they last went out while somebody on Zoom is asking for your opinion.
You get on with your day knowing somebody else is taking care of theirs.
What might their day look like?
That depends entirely on your dog.
For some dogs, Work Hours Care might include a lovely on-lead walk (using a short lead or long line, depending on the dog and environment. It’s simply part of our safety-first approach. I’ve known experienced dog care professionals whose dogs have unexpectedly bolted, so I prefer to give dogs plenty of freedom to sniff and explore safely on a long line rather than leave anything to chance), enrichment, games, and plenty of interaction.
For others, it could be a gentle toilet walk, lunch, a little enrichment and then several hours happily snoozing while their dog carer provides quiet companionship nearby.
And sometimes, where appropriate for the individual dog, the weather, location and length of booking, we might turn an ordinary workday into a little adventure with a longer sniffy walk or a change of scenery.
The aim isn’t to fill every minute with activity. It’s to give your dog the kind of day they enjoy.
Care can include:
-
One-to-one companionship in your dog’s own home
-
Feeding and fresh water
-
Medication where agreed
-
Toilet breaks
-
Individual on-lead walks
-
Play and enrichment
-
Rest and downtime
-
Plenty of sniffing and opportunities to decompress
-
Monitoring their behaviour and general wellbeing
-
Regular pupdates so you can get on with your day without wondering
No group day care. No one-size-fits-all timetable.
Some dogs thrive in group environments. Others don’t.
Rescue dogs, nervous or reactive dogs, senior dogs, dogs who prefer human company, or simply dogs who are happiest in their own space can benefit enormously from having their care brought to them.
Their bed is there. Their smells are there. Their favourite window for neighbourhood surveillance is there.
We simply fit into their world.
Walks are always about the individual dog
A good walk isn’t measured by how many miles we manage to clock up.
We consider your dog’s age, mobility, usual routine, preferences, triggers, the weather and what is happening in the environment that day.
Every dog cared for through Aunty Shan’s Dog Care is walked on lead at all times. For nervous or reactive dogs in particular, a shorter, calmer walk with space to sniff and decompress may be far more valuable than marching around for an hour because the clock says so.
Before their Work Hours Care
We’ll review the information we already hold about your dog and, where appropriate, send through a personalised care plan beforehand.
You can tell us about anything that has changed too. Maybe they had a restless night, their tummy is a little delicate, or the roadworks around the corner have suddenly become their mortal enemy.
Those little details matter.
