Overnight Dog Care
You enjoy your time away and we’ll take care of everything in between, from daytime adventures and evening wind-downs to bedtime and the morning routine.

For many dogs, there really is no place like home. When you need to be away overnight, your dog can stay surrounded by the people, smells, routines and little comforts they already know, while receiving dedicated one-to-one care throughout the day and night.
Overnight Dog Care is the most complete Aunty Shan's Dog Care experience. It brings together many of the things you will find across our Work Hours, Weeknight and Weekend care, then continues through bedtime, the night and the following morning.
More than somewhere to sleep
Overnight care is not simply about having somebody in the house while you are away, it is a full 24 hours of personalised care built around your dog and the life they normally live at home.
There might be a daytime walk or little adventure, enrichment and play, meals at the usual times, plenty of opportunities to rest, an evening walk, medication where needed, sofa time, cuddles if they want them, or simply quiet companionship while they wind down.
From breakfast to bedtime, sleepy evenings to morning stretches, we fit into their world rather than asking them to fit into ours.
Their day
The daytime part of an overnight stay is shaped around your dog's normal routine, energy, personality and needs. For some dogs, that might include a good sniffy on-lead walk (a short lead or long line is used depending on the dog and environment. It’s simply part of our safety-first approach. I’ve known experienced dog care professionals whose dogs have unexpectedly bolted, so I prefer to give dogs plenty of freedom to sniff and explore safely on a long line rather than leave anything to chance), enrichment, games, and a little change of scenery. For others it may be a shorter walk, garden time, lunch, medication, gentle enrichment and plenty of snoozing.
The aim is never to fill every minute, it is to give your dog the kind of day they genuinely enjoy, with activity, rest and companionship balanced around the individual dog in front of us.
Their evening
As the day winds down, we follow the evening rhythm your dog already knows. That might mean dinner at their usual time, an on-lead evening walk, medication, a game, a favourite chew, sofa time or simply having someone nearby while they settle.
We are not there to reinvent their evening, we are there to keep it feeling reassuringly familiar.
Bedtime and overnight
When bedtime arrives, we follow the routine you have shared with us as closely as possible.
Whether your dog sleeps in their own bed, has a final garden visit, expects a bedtime snack or likes a particular settling routine, those small details matter.
And unlike a daytime or evening booking, care continues through the night. Your dog has the reassurance of somebody being there in their home, with support available if they wake, need the toilet or simply need a little extra reassurance.
The next morning
Morning starts the way your dog knows it. Breakfast, medication where needed, toilet breaks, a morning walk if that is part of their routine, and those wonderfully important first stretches of the day all happen before the stay moves towards handover or the next part of the booking.
Before you come home
Caring for your dog also means respecting their home. Before an Overnight Care booking ends, we make sure the spaces we’ve used are left clean and tidy ready for your return.
We’ll spray and wipe down the surfaces we’ve used, hoover, tidy up after ourselves and strip the bedding. Where laundry facilities and time allow, we’ll also wash the bedding and, if you have a tumble dryer, do our best to have it dried before you arrive home.
The idea is simple: you’ve been away making memories, so coming home should feel just as pleasant.
One overnight stay can look very different from another
An overnight stay with an energetic young dog may look completely different from one with a senior, rescue or nervous dog. One dog might love a longer sniffy adventure and games. Another may be happiest pottering around the garden, snoozing on the sofa and keeping every part of their familiar routine intact.
That is exactly the point. Care is adapted to the dog, rather than expecting the dog to adapt to a standard scheduled.

Walks are planned around your dog
Walks are never about clocking up miles for the sake of it. We consider your dog's age, mobility, usual routine, known triggers, the weather and the environment around them. All walks are on lead, and plans can be adapted if something on the day means a different option would be safer or more comfortable.
Thoughtful preparation before you go
Good overnight care starts before you leave. We review the information already held about your dog and prepare around their routine, feeding, medication, walks, rest, enrichment and any individual needs. You also have the opportunity to tell us about any recent changes before the booking begins.
That means we are not arriving with a generic plan, we arrive already understanding the little things that help your dog feel comfortable and settled.
Pupdates while you are away
Being away from your dog should not mean spending the whole trip wondering how they are. You will receive regular photo, video and message pupdates so you can see how they are getting on and enjoy your time away with a little more peace of mind.
Care that continues
Our relationship with you and your dog does not end when the booking does. We follow up afterwards, welcome honest feedback and use what we learn to keep future care personal to them and, between bookings, we are always happy to hear the dog-life updates too, from fun adventures and birthdays to changes in routine, health updates or harder moments.
We are here through every stage of your dog's life.
